About

My name is Emily Culver, and I'm the editor behind Grace Editing Services. I began freelance editing in 2007 shortly after I completed my bachelor's degree in education. I worked in the field of education while occasionally editing until I transitioned into administrative work at Liberty University in 2014. In 2015, I

began editing dissertations for Liberty's doctoral candidates; I have edited over 200 dissertations across five fields of study for students from universities across the US since then, earned a certificate in editing through the University of Chicago, and expanded into editing book manuscripts and college admissions essays and providing writing support to high school, undergraduate, graduate, and postgraduate students as well as faculty.

I specialize in the fields of counseling and education, but my experience spans the fields of music, nursing, religion, political science, neuroscience, psychology, and

more. I take pride in my expertise in APA and Turabian/Chicago styles and in catching things other editors don't. The difference between a good manuscript and an excellent one is in the details.

When I'm not editing, I enjoy spending time with my husband and children, doing crossword puzzles, and traveling. I love to snowshoe, especially in my home state of Vermont. I'm also a big New England sports fan--go Sox, Pats, Bruins, and Celtics!
